A 'garden of earthly delights' with a wicked spirit. A strange scenery, where dollhouses are turned into overcrowded 'wunderkammer' pieces and popular icons dance with ghosts: children dressed as animals, hybrid creatures, a frightened Guizmo or a Werewolf who surprises us behind a roof. Behind the Doors invites us to enter the fantasy universe of Amandine Urruty. A bitter-sweet glimpse of a mental carnival. Playing with the balance between an elegant and ambivalent baroque style, this artwork is an excellent example of the magical narrative of her renowned black and white illustrations.
Her mastery in the use of pencil and charcoal on paper is now transformed into a limited edition of 50 pieces, printed from a photogravure on high-quality paper and designed exclusively for Limited by SOLO.
