Tilo Baumgärtel is mostly known as a painter. Painting has been the medium in which he has developed most of his artistic practice, influenced by the well-known Leipzig School. However, the artist has also explored different fields of the plastic arts. This is the case of his new engraving, Grindelwald, here converted into a print.

Tilo Baumgärtel's works, which elegantly blend realism and illusion, are presented as snapshots that allude to larger, dramatic narratives. More than stories, his dreamlike scenes are invitations to the viewer's imagination, free to interpret them.
