Raymond Lemstra's fascination with facial features and his attraction to the human predisposition to recognize faces converge in his work Man with glasses. An intricate graphite drawing now turned into a print. The incorporation of the psychological phenomenon that makes us recognize faces in inanimate objects, pareidolia, is one of the most recurrent and characteristic features of his work. Lemstra plays with the viewer's perception, generating portraits through false facial features and surreal and disturbing compositions.
Drawings on paper with complex and detailed textures were the basis on which the artist Raymond Lemstra began to develop his artistic practice, now more focused on colorful and geometric painting. Inspired by the selective emphasis present in children's drawings and pre-colonial masks, Heshka populates his imaginary with fantasy characters.
Realism merges with surrealism in this print, now available for sale in a limited edition, signed by the artist and designed exclusively for Limited by SOLO.
Limited by Solo wishes to see its art pieces travelling around the world and getting to your door in the quickest and safest way.
