A powerful fighter lands a hefty punch in Boxing 1 (Black and White) by Serbian artist, Mihael Milunovic, one of the limited edition photogravure prints developed exclusively for Limited by SOLO. Conflict is a regular theme of Milunovic’s artwork and boxers feature in paintings such as Suburban Boxer (2011), Boxer (2016) and Drum Fight (2018). This series takes place in the micro-universe of the boxing ring, delivering observers a close-up view of the action. With the artist’s trademark dynamism and attention to composition, the strength of the blow is reflected in the characters’ posture and the distortion of their plate-like oval heads.

The crude energy of combat is elegantly depicted in Boxing 2 (Black and White) by Serbian artist, Mihael Milunovic, one of the four photogravure prints developed exclusively for Limited by SOLO. Conflict is a recurring theme for Milunovic and in this black and white gem, violence escapes the surreal environments typical of his artwork for the recognisable setting of the boxing ring. Three beams of light give the scene a visual intensity reminiscent of German expressionist cinema, while the power of the blow sees the characters’ geometric heads sent reeling. Exquisite composition, brutal observation and dramatic effect: Boxing 2 (Black and White) is pure Mihael Milunovic.

Two rivals are locked in a fiercely contested fight in Boxing 3 (Black and White), one of four photogravure prints developed by Serbian artist Mihael Milunovic for Limited by SOLO. His artworks often explore human conflict, with recurring motifs such as flags, tanks or weapons used to suggest the ever-present threat of violence. Boxing is referenced in paintings like Suburban Boxer (2011), Boxer (2016) and Drum Fight (2018), while in this exclusive series of prints, his protagonists leave the bizarre settings characteristic of his work for the micro-environment of the ring. Viewers are offered a front-row spot, a close-up on the raw intensity of combat.
The frame is carefully selected by our team and assembled in an art specialist framing workshop.
These custom made frames are made of beechwood and oak wood. A natural or wengue finish is chosen by our curator, as well as its thickness –10 to 30 mm–, based on the needs of the artwork, as it is shown in the photographs.
Please, take into account that delivery time can be altered by the framing process, adding to the estimated delivery date between 4/7 working days.
